The prevalence of cardiovascular disease is on the increase in the developing world and it is now a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Nigeria. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in every 5 Nigerian adults over the age of 30 will likely die prematurely from non-communicable diseases of which cardiovascular diseases forms the bulk.
The cost of cardiovascular interventions including surgeries is very high and thousands of people die yearly, because of lack of funds. The few hospitals and clinics equipped to carry out cardiovascular procedures are affordable to only a minority of Nigeria’s citizens, leaving the majority with little or no alternative.
Cardiac Health Initiative partners with medical teams to provide free or discounted diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease to people without access to them.
We ask your support to help provide hope and life for people with heart disease. If you share our passion for saving hearts, we encourage you to join us as a donor. Together, we can save thousands of lives.
